Timeline
1926 – Isa Hotel is opened, under the name of the Mount Isa Hotel
1951 – Boyd’s Hotel (now known as RedEearth Hotel) opens
2002 – Hakfoort Group purchase the Mount Isa Hotel and renames it Isa Hotel
2003 – Refurbishment of Isa Hotel upper level begins, adding 16 new accommodation rooms and suites
2006 – Boyd’s Hotel is purchased and renamed RedEarth Boutique Hotel
2007 – Stage 2 of refurbishment begins at both hotels, adding 100 car spaces, three new bars, a new gaming room, modern Rodeo Bar & Grill bistro, fine dining a la carte restaurant and a covered beer garden with three designated smoking areas.
2008 – Isa Hotel and RedEarth reopen to the public as an amalgamated offering joined by a large, outdoor deck and a main reception desk to service both hotels with a total of 70 rooms and suites.
2008 – RedEarth wins the Queensland Hotels Association award for best superior accommodation
2009 – RedEarth again wins the Queensland Hotels Association award for best superior accommodation
2012 – the RedEarth Cocktail Lounge is opened, offering locals and guests an upmarket lounge open 7 days a week.
2012 – Isa Hotel wins Best Employee Guest Services from Queensland Hotel Group
2013 – Isa Hotel Gaming Lounge is refurbished, and construction begins for Liquor Warehouse
2013 – Isa Hotel is a finalist for Best Midrange Accommodation (3.5 stars) Award from Queensland Hotel Group
2014 – Liquor Warehouse opens, and becomes Mount Isa’s largest bottle shop
2014 – Isa Hotel Gaming Lounge is awarded Queensland Hotels Association award for Best Gaming Venue
2015 – Isa Hotel wins Best Marketed Hotel from Queensland Hotels Association
2015 – Liquor Warehouse wins Best Retail Bottle Facility from Queensland Hotels Association
2016 – Rodeo Bar & Grill is refurbished and reopens with a new, extensive menu and improved surrounds
2018 – Waymark Hotels purchases both hotels and Liquor Warehouse
